Searching…

The panic that shutters through our bodies when our phone service says searching… Telling us that we are unplugged or unconnected to the world around us. It’s almost like those three little dots are mocking us… Still in a continual process.

In life, we search for a lot of things that cause us panic or worry. We become just like our phones in the middle of the woods. We can be overcome by the vast emptiness without finding a connection or a voice that answers our questions for what can satisfy our hunger.

We search for the perfect job, the most followers or likes, acceptance from our friends and family, the best relationship, the trendiest clothes, and overall, perfection. We chase after these things to fill this hunger.

Our daily battle is to define ourselves by everything the world says is important. The Lord tells us that we are to be in the world but not of the world. He gave us a desire in our heart, an insatiable thirst, and a deep void. We are to be a Light to the world that is so lost in the darkness of every-changing trends and standards.

The only thing that can fill this deep pit? The love of our Lord and Savior.

But too often we try to stuff this never-ending hole in our hearts with just about anything else we can find. More Instagram followers. A new boyfriend. An unhealthy hobby. Or any sort of distraction. We try to fill this pit with things that will never satisfy our ever increasing appetite.

The best news?

No matter how many times we choose to ignore God and fill His place in our heart with anything else, He is still there waiting, watching, and wanting to grow into a deeper relationship with each of us.

How incredible is it that He designed you?! He ordained every single detail, and knows each and every desire of your heart. And even though we choose to run from his open arms to fill our lives with the things of this world, His ever present voice is readily available.

No matter your choices or mistakes, He is there to foster a deeper relationship and lead you into a life free from worry, anxiety, and worldly pressure.

He will order your steps. He will be with you in every waking moment.

So continue to search. Search with everything within you. Search for the One who can fill your heart.

Be constantly searching…

“Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaced worry at the center of your life.”
-Philippians 4:7, MSG

“You will find me and seek me, when you seek me with all your heart.”
