Listening to my mom’s unintentionally hysterical accidents, jotting down anecdotes of a crazy interaction at the grocery store, or recalling antics of my friends that still make me laugh until I cry.
Stories matter, because they mark memories of this one life we have the honor of living. Stories orient us and offer hope that we won’t remain in the current chapter forever— whether that reminds us to savor and celebrate it or search for purpose in the painful parts of it. Stories also invite us to see the larger narrative God is writing in our lives and in the world.
